Defoe, Donovan help England and US to qualify next round

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- England reached the second round of the World Cup aftear a 1-0 victory over Slovenia in the third match of Group C at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

Jermain Defoe scored the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute to ensure victory of England and spot in last 16.

The United States will join England into last 16 after Landon Donovan struck a dramatic injury-time winner against Algeria.

The victory helped the US to top Group C, while England is runner-ups.
