“Days of Textile Technologies” take place in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Today, on 7 February, the Symposium “Days of Textile Technologies: Finishing, Laboratory, Sewing” was held in Tashkent.

The event, initiated as a result of the fruitful cooperation of the Uztekstilprom Association with the German company Textima Export Import GmbH, was attended by 7 leading European manufacturers of textile equipment - Andritz, Benninger, Brückner, PPT Group, Schmale, Thies and Hetma.

The event was attended by representatives of industry enterprises, international organizations, employees and students of higher educational institutions.

The Chairman of the Uztekstilprom Association in his welcoming speech emphasized the importance of cooperation for Germany and Uzbekistan, indicating that Uzbekistan will increase technological development in the textile sector.

In turn, Managing Director of Textima Export Import GmbH Heike Hundertmark noted that the symposium is a unique platform for discussing the latest trends and innovations in the textile industry, as well as an initiative in a continuous series that they would like to develop in the future with Uztekstilprom .

The parties sealed the agreement by signing a Memorandum and Agreement on the opening of a “School of Technologists” together with German partners, providing for the training of specialists at both Uzbek and German enterprises.

Continuing the event, representatives of companies producing textile equipment made their presentations, which aroused interest among representatives of domestic enterprises and provided an opportunity to become more familiar with innovations and the latest achievements in the field of textile technologies.

Following the Symposium, B2B meetings were held to discuss issues and details of further interaction between interested parties.

Today, the textile industry of the Republic is one of the leaders in terms of growth rates of key indicators (production and export of products, attraction and development of investments). Textile products are sold in more than 70 countries around the world and product exports as of 2023 reached US$3.4 billion, while over the past 4 years the investment indicator amounted to US$3.2 billion.
During the period of cooperation, thanks to joint efforts, Uzbek textile companies managed to enter the German market and triple textile exports, as well as create production branches of German companies in Uzbekistan such as TeamDress, LANGHEINRICH. The Centrastex Trading House in Nuremberg and the Sustainable Cotton Association in Stuttgart also opened, which will become a business platform for the further development of cooperation in the textile sector.
