Davis Cup: Uzbekistan wins both single matches against Kiwis

Uzbekistan took a 2-0 lead against New Zealand on Friday in the first round match of the Asia/Oceania Zone Group I.
In the first match of the day, Uzbekistan number one Denis Istomin outclassed No. 554 Rubin Statham 6/1, 6/1 and 6/3 in a brisk 1 hour 24 minutes.
Kiwi No. 1 Michael Venus then put up stiffer resistance before falling to Farrukh Dustov – 3/6, 6/1, 6/2 and 6/2.
The winner of the tie will face India in next round.
