Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Construction of the first data center of the DataVolt has begun in Uzbekistan.

The construction commencement ceremony took place on 2 May.

The data center, with a capacity of 10 MW, will be located on the territory of the IT Park in Tashkent and provide computing power for its residents.

Investments in the future data center are estimated at $150 million.

In addition, DataVolt plans to allocate up to US$5 billion to projects in Uzbekistan by 2030.

One of the projects is the creation of a 250 MW data center in New Tashkent on an area of 25 hectares. It is also planned to create another data center with a capacity of 40 MW in the Bukhara region with further expansion to 250 MW.

All data centers will use renewable energy sources. The investor implements the project using his own funds and loans from international financial institutions.

The data center capacity will be used for leasing and providing services to the technology sector.

After the launch of the project, DataVolt plans to attract large foreign IT companies to Uzbekistan.
