Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 3 August, an Airbus A320 (UK32015) operating flight HY9684 from Krasnoyarsk to Tashkent encountered severe hail during its flight. The incident occurred at an altitude of 11,000 meters, while crossing the border between Russia and Kazakhstan.

The hailstorm caused damage to the cockpit glazing and radar cover. Following standard procedures, the crew decided to continue to the destination airport in Tashkent.

The aircraft carried 174 passengers and 6 crew members. It landed safely at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov at 15:38 local time.

Currently, Uzbekistan Airways Technics specialists are carrying out repairs to replace the radar cover and conducting a routine inspection of the aircraft. The aircraft is expected to resume its scheduled flights shortly.

The incident is not considered a significant threat to flight safety. Uzbekistan Airways emphasizes that passenger safety remains the highest priority.
