Customs officers seize smuggled cosmetic products for 1.2bn soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Customs officers of Uzbekistan prevented 824 attempts of smuggling cosmetic products for 1.2 billion soums in the past period of 2010, the press service of the State Customs Committee said.

Navoi region’s customs officers detained 1,344 units of cosmetics products for 3.5 million soums from the citizen of Bukhara F. Hamdaov.

The similar violation was revealed in Namangan region. During inspection of Nexia car, the customs officers seized 1,000 units of perfume products without any certificates.

In border area of Tashkent region, the customs officers seized 1,500 units of cosmetic products during raid. Another 300 units of perfume products were detained during similar operation in the region.

The committee said the investigation is underway on these cases.
