Uzbekistan 14/04/2009 CSTO FMs to discuss international security

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A session of the Council of ministers of foreign affairs of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will be held in Yerevan, Armenia, on 16-17 April.

CSTO includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The session will discuss a report of the CSTO Secretary-General on foreign political cooperation, actual international security problems, main directions of cooperation with international regional organizations and others.

It is expected that the meeting will approve memorandum of cooperation between secretariats of the CSTO and the UN to formation and establishment of practical cooperation.

Foreign Ministers will consider joint actions of the CSTO member states on stabilization of Afghanistan and fight against drug trafficking, as well as set time and venue for next session of the Council.
