Uzbekistan 24/04/2009 CSTO chief pays a three-day working visit to Tajikistan.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Nikolai Bordyuzha, the general secretary of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will arrive for a three-day working visit to Tajikistan on Thursday to discuss the situation in Afghanistan and the entire region.

He will discuss the implementation of decisions of an extraordinary meeting of the CSTO Council held in February this year with military and political leaders of Tajikistan. Other topics will include the creation of a collective rapid deployment force.

Nikolai Bordyuzha will hold consultations with the Secretary of the Tajik Security Council Amirkul Azimov, the Foreign Minister Khamrakhon Zarifi, the Defence Minister Sherali Khairulayev, the head of the State National Security Committee Khairiddin Abdurakhimov and Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov. He will also visit an elite unit of the Tajik armed forces.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) comprises Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
