Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law amending several legislative acts.
This law includes changes and additions to various laws to align them with new legal norms enshrined in the Constitution. The amendments pertain to the activities of mass media as well as fundamental human rights and freedoms.
Specifically, an addition to the Law on State Civil Service stipulates that the criminal record of relatives and the associated legal consequences cannot serve as grounds for limiting citizens’ rights when applying for or serving in public civil service.
Additionally, changes have been made to the Law on Guarantees of Entrepreneurial Freedom, clarifying that entrepreneurial entities have the right to engage in any activities permitted by law and to independently choose their directions.
The law will come into effect upon its official publication.
