Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A criminal case has been initiated in Jizzakh region against a local resident for beating his minor children.

The victims are receiving psychological and social support.

The Office of the Children’s Ombudsman of Uzbekistan commented on a video circulating on social media showing a father violently assaulting his children. According to the investigation, the incident occurred as a result of a family conflict.

The internal affairs authorities, together with staff from the “Inson” Center of the National Agency for Social Protection, are working to hold the man accountable. At the same time, the children are being provided with safe conditions and the necessary psychological and social assistance.

The Jizzakh Regional Department of Internal Affairs reported that a criminal case has been opened under Paragraph “a” of Part 2, Article 110 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which establishes liability for torture or abuse.
