Countries of Central Asia and China agreed to develop cooperation in civil aviation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 17 to 21 June 2024, the Chinese city of Xi’an hosted the S5+1 Chinese-Central Asian Civil Aviation Conference dedicated to cooperation under the aforementioned agreement.

The conference was attended by representatives of aviation authorities and enterprises from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, China’s civil aviation administration, the SOMAS manufacturing enterprise, several airlines, and Chinese state organizations managing airports.

The Uzbekistani delegation, including leaders and staff from the Ministry of Transport’s air transport management and the Civil Aviation Agency, actively participated in the conference.

During the event, the Uzbekistani delegation received information about current projects in civil aviation and discussed future plans to enhance aviation connectivity with China and neighboring countries.

The main objective of the conference was to develop the "Air Silk Road," revive the historical Great Silk Road, strengthen economic cooperation, liberalize the air transport market, and increase passenger and cargo traffic between the countries.

As part of the forum, the parties reached agreements to hold the "China-Central Asia Civil Aviation Conference C5+1" annually on March 1 in rotation among the participating countries, and to further deepen cooperation.
