Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 30 January 2025, the number of Uzbek citizens who have died from consuming counterfeit alcoholic beverages in Türkiye has reached 23, including two women. This was reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Migration Agency have provided the necessary consular, legal, and organizational assistance for the transportation of the bodies of all the deceased to Uzbekistan.

Additionally, some Uzbek citizens have completed their treatment and have been discharged from the hospital, while others continue to receive medical care.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ankara and the Consulate General in Istanbul are continuing to monitor the situation.
