Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation led by Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Komiljon Karimov visited the French Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The delegation was received by Deputy Counselor of the Ministry Manuel Buar.

The parties held negotiations on the further development of higher education and scientific research between the two countries. As Komiljon Karimov noted, more than 8 thousand students in Uzbekistan study French as a first or second foreign language, and more than 20 French teachers participate in these processes.

At the same time, a number of joint educational programs are being implemented in our country, in particular, joint educational programs between Bukhara State University and the French School of Hotel Tourism and Management "Vatel", Samarkand State University and the French Higher Engineering Center, the Tashkent Institute of Light Industry, as well as International Fashion Academy.

K. Karimov and M. Buar discussed the creation of an Uzbek-French university in Uzbekistan, holding an Uzbek-French forum of higher education, and further expanding the teaching of French to Uzbek youth. Also, special attention was paid to establishing cooperation in the creation of advanced engineering schools in Uzbekistan. 

Cooperation is being carried out with the French Association of Directors of Engineering Schools, within the framework of which an agreement has been reached to study the experience of special schools in France specializing in the field of lyceums and universities.
