Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzcharmsanoat association held a meeting with a representative of the Indian company Zain International. During the talks, issues of developing trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two large countries of Central and South Asia with a developed leather industry were discussed.

The Indian company has established favorable relations with a number of enterprises in Uzbekistan due to the comfortable business environment in our country, the conditions created for foreign investors and a convenient logistical location. In particular, today Zain International is working effectively on the export of finished footwear products from the Uzshoes JV, located in the Kashkadarya region. Also, the process of building interaction continues with Amr-Ul-Bahr LLC in the Samarkand region.

Zain International is engaged in the production, export and supply of safety shoes in India. The company is located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. Currently, the company produces 500 square meters of finished leather, about 75,000 pairs of workwear and 25,000 pairs of safety shoes per month.

In a conversation, the Indian side noted that the potential of Uzbekistan in the leather and footwear industry is increasing every year, and today the quality of Uzbek products has reached a new level. The company supplies raw materials and finished products not only in India itself, but also sends products to foreign markets, including the CIS.

For this reason, the Indian company has initiated new investment projects for the production of footwear in Uzbekistan. The investor was provided with detailed information on small industrial zones with convenient infrastructure being created in 16 districts of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the end of the meeting, the Uzcharmsanoat Association expressed its readiness to establish cooperation for the effective implementation of the investment project, and a specific action plan was developed.
