Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 15 July, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change with representatives of the leading transnational company China Everbright Environment Group Limited from China.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry, the Republican Sanitary Cleaning Organization Center, and the Waste Management Directorate.

During the meeting, the Chinese side was briefed on ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s waste processing system and informed about several issues that need to be addressed in this sphere. General information was provided on the morphological composition, volume, and combustion rate of waste, as well as on favorable conditions and guaranteed incentives created for industry investors.

In turn, the partners highly appreciated the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, noting their readiness to contribute to solving these issues.

During the meeting, representatives of the Chinese delegation shared Vietnam’s experience in waste management and discussed issues related to energy generation through waste incineration. Based on Vietnam’s experience, a 30-year investment period was proposed for the construction and operation of a waste-to-energy plant in Uzbekistan.

At the end of the meeting, the guests were briefed on the activities of the Republican Sanitary Cleaning Organization Center and the Central Dispatch and Online Monitoring Management.

Additionally, plans are underway to familiarize the Chinese delegation with the operations of landfill sites and wastewater treatment facilities in Bukhara, Andijan, Fergana, and Namangan regions.
