Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 September 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Nuh Yılmaz, who arrived in Tashkent.
The parties discussed current issues in the rapidly developing Uzbek-Turkish relations, the progress of joint programs, and prospects for enhancing political dialogue, trade and investment ties, as well as cultural, humanitarian, and tourism exchanges.
Additionally, under the chairmanship of the deputy foreign ministers of both countries, a new round of political consultations took place between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Türkiye, involving relevant ministries and agencies.
Special attention was given to the practical implementation of agreements reached during the 3rd High-Level Strategic Partnership Council meeting held in Ankara in June 2024, under the chairmanship of the Presidents of both countries.
The importance of further expanding the legal and contractual framework of relations, considering the evolving connections across all areas, was highlighted. Discussions also covered strengthening cooperation within multilateral structures, primarily the United Nations and the Organization of Turkic States.
