Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 March, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kongratbay Sharipov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov. 

Minister Kongratbay Sharipov emphasized the successful aspects of the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Russia in the field of higher education and science.

At the meeting, issues of further expanding cooperation with Russian universities were discussed based on the accumulated positive experience of relationships. In particular, speaking about the Uzbek-Russian educational forum, it was noted that such conferences serve as an important platform for discussing issues of cooperation in the field.

The parties also emphasized the importance of bilateral scientific and technical cooperation in high-tech areas, including discussing the prospects for expanding projects with the Kurchatov Institute, one of the largest scientific centers in Russia. 

An exchange of views took place on organizing a competition for joint scientific projects and signing a new document on cooperation for this purpose.
