Cooperation agreements signed between companies of Pyeongtaek and Ferghana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  A delegation from the Ferghana region of Uzbekistan visited South Korea and held a series of meetings in Pyeongtaek, resulting in significant agreements to expand economic cooperation between the two regions.

As part of the visit, a business forum was organized, bringing together officials, entrepreneurs, and company executives from both sides.

Mayor Jeong Jang-seon of Pyeongtaek and Chairman of the Pyeongtaek Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kang Su-lee emphasized that cooperation between Ferghana and Pyeongtaek is entering a new phase, with joint projects already underway.

Ferghana regional governor Khayrullo Bozorov noted that South Korea remains a stable and reliable partner for Uzbekistan. He highlighted the growing interregional collaboration and stressed that all necessary conditions have been created to foster bilateral ties, establish economic zones, and implement promising projects. The governor also invited Korean entrepreneurs to visit the Ferghana region to explore its potential firsthand.

Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to South Korea, Alisher AbduSalomov, expressed confidence in the success of the agreements reached and noted that the trusting relationship between the two regions will only strengthen further.

During the visit, Khayrullo Bozorov was honored with the title of honorary citizen of Pyeongtaek.

Deputy Governor Nuriddin Mamajanov presented Ferghana’s investment potential, outlining the opportunities available to investors.

The forum also saw the signing of cooperation agreements between leading companies of Pyeongtaek and entrepreneurs from Ferghana in industries such as manufacturing, trade, energy, and education. The financial details of the agreements were not disclosed.

Pyeongtaek, located in Gyeonggi Province, is a rapidly developing city with a major seaport and significant trade and economic potential. It serves as a hub for advanced industries such as semiconductors, the hydrogen economy, and next-generation automobile production.
