Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the week of international partnership initiatives "New Uzbekistan: development, innovation and education", the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan organized an international conference on the topic "Cultural the heritage of Uzbekistan is the basis of the New Renaissance”. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.

The event was attended by Minister of Culture and Tourism Ozodbek Nazarbekov, founder and president of the Temurids Association Frederic Beaupertuis-Bressan (France), regional representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for Central Asia Thomas Kunze, president of the World Federation of World Chefs, founder of the Halal brand of the Islamic world Tair Amiraslanov (Azerbaijan), former Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Abulfaz Garayev.

In his welcoming speech, Minister of Culture and Tourism O. Nazarbekov informed in detail about the reforms carried out in the field of culture and tourism in Uzbekistan in recent years.

In January-June 2023, 492 concert events were organized with a coverage of more than 5 million 260 thousand people. In May this year, the total amount of proceeds from concert institutions amounted to 8 billion 458.8 million soums. Compared to the corresponding period of 2022, this indicator increased by 1.2 times.

In January-June 2023, 6,353 performances (including 707 charity performances) were held, which were attended by 2,432,000 spectators (including 212,000 spectators at charity events). The amount of proceeds from the programs amounted to 7 billion 981 million soums.

"Days of Culture of Uzbekistan" were held in 25 foreign countries, 7 foreign tours, participation in tourist exhibitions, and 13 representatives of the Art Academy participated in foreign exhibitions.

In order to further expand the network of cultural institutions, strengthen their material and technical base, as well as conduct high-quality cultural and entertainment events for the population, agreements on public-private partnerships worth 144.2 billion soums were signed with 33 institutions.

In the period January-May 2023, 2.6 million foreign tourists visited Uzbekistan, the export of tourist services amounted to 833.5 million US dollars. This figure has doubled compared to the corresponding period in 2022.

More than 8 million local tourists traveled as part of the Travel Uzbekistan program in 2023.

In order to increase the flow of foreign tourists and present the country’s tourism potential from May 11 to 17 of this year. a delegation of 80 members of the German Tourism Association (Deutscher Reiseverband, DRV) visited Uzbekistan, and on May 16, a Destination forum was held in Tashkent, within the framework of which B2B meetings were organized.

In the direction of promoting the tourism potential of our country abroad, agreements have been reached with the global television companies BBC (Great Britain), CNN (USA), Euronews, the largest online streaming platforms Netflix and Amadeus (USA), online travel platform Trip.com (China), Holiday factory and Visa Facilitation Services Global (UAE).

This year, it is planned to attract 10 million foreign tourists to the country, organize domestic trips for 20 million local residents. As a result, the export of tourism services will amount to 2 billion US dollars.

By the end of the year, 1.2 million tourists from Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Japan, Israel, India and the CIS countries will visit Uzbekistan through pilgrimage tourism.

170 hotels, 72 hostels, 48 other types of accommodation will be launched, a total of 290 accommodations will be created and 492 new family guest houses will be created, and 50,000 jobs will be created in the industry.
