Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 26 June, an official ceremony was held at the Chinese port of Lianyungang to launch the first container block train from South Korea to Uzbekistan via the direct route “Korea – China – Kazakhstan – Uzbekistan.” This initiative was led by the railway administrations of South Korea, China, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the company “SJ Logistics Group”.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Board of the South Korean National Railway Agency, Han Wensi, Deputy Mayor of Lianyungang City, Jen Dong, General Manager of CRCT, Zhong Chen, Head of the Logistics and Marketing Department of "Uzbekistan Railways," Oibek Jabarov, Deputy General Director of "KTZ Express," Ulugbek Orazov, Chairman of the Board of Lianyungang Port, Yang Long, and Chairman of the Board of SJ Logistics Group, Liu Zhiye.
The continuation of transportation along this route will contribute to the increase in cargo turnover between the two countries and ensure the continuity of logistics chains in the current geopolitical situation.
It should be noted that regular container train services are planned for this route.
