Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Consul General of Uzbekistan in Kazan Nodirjon Kasimov was received by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, according to Dunyo News Agency.
The President of Tatarstan praised the reliable and friendly relations with Uzbekistan and highlighted the significant contribution of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in strengthening these ties. He emphasized the important role of Uzbekistan's Consulate General in Kazan in reinforcing historical connections between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan and further expanding their relations.
In response, Consul General Nodirjon Kasimov expressed gratitude for the ongoing attention from the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan towards strengthening relations with Uzbekistan and for the warm reception. He also acknowledged the potential for increasing the volume and variety of trade and expanding the range of services in mutual commerce. Kasimov expressed readiness to support the development of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan in various fields.
During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian areas, including student exchanges and personnel training, as well as projects being implemented in Chirchik and Jizzakh, and the establishment of joint industrial zones in the Bukhara and Navoi regions.
It should be noted that 46-year-old Nodirjon Kasimov, prior to his appointment as Consul General in Kazan, served as Acting Head of the State Plant Quarantine Inspection under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan. He succeeded Fariddin Nasriyev, who led the Consulate General from 2018 to 2023 and was appointed Ambassador to Iran.
