Constructive dialogue between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to continue

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 November, in Bishkek, within the framework of the regular plenary meeting of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva and the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbaev.

It was noted with satisfaction that in recent years relations between our countries have been developing in all areas in the spirit of friendship, good neighborhood, strategic partnership and alliance thanks to an open, trusting dialogue and the strong political will of the heads of state.

As is known, inter-parliamentary ties are noticeably expanding in interstate relations. From this point of view, issues of further enriching existing relations with practical actions were discussed.

A proposal was put forward to increase the efficiency of the work of the interparliamentary commission between the Senates of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, in particular, to hold a regular meeting of the Commission and, within its framework, sign a new “Road Map” between the parliaments of the two countries.

Maulen Ashimbaev especially emphasized the leading role of Uzbekistan in achieving the SDGs and highly appreciated the activities of the Parliamentary Commission for monitoring the implementation of national goals and objectives in the field of sustainable development of the country for the period until 2030. He said that the same commission began to function in the parliament of Kazakhstan and in this regard noted the importance of the experience of Uzbekistan.

The parties agreed to actively continue the practice of promoting joint initiatives and mutual support within the framework of international parliamentary structures, as well as a number of other international organizations.

At the end of the meeting, confidence was expressed that cooperation between friendly countries and fraternal peoples will continue to develop constructively, based on the principles of mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests, while the interparliamentary dialogue will continue more actively.
