Construction of BMX cycle track is underway in Jizzakh

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - As we previously reported, the construction of the BMX cycle track, which is one of the areas included in the program of the Olympics, began on the territory of the former Sangzorkul lake in Jizzakh region. It should be noted that this sports facility is being built by the Cycling Federation of Uzbekistan together with the khokimiyat of Jizzakh region and construction is currently underway. Today we want to tell you in detail about this route.

The track will be built according to the standards of the category SS and can host continental championships and stages of the World Cup competitions. The arena is designed for 2500 spectators. It is noteworthy that a hotel (for 100 people) and a business center will be built next to the object. After the opening of international flights, the arrival of foreign specialists is expected, which will be present during construction. So far, local builders are in touch through video calls and receive the necessary recommendations from foreign colleagues.

“After the completion of construction, we plan to organize the opening of the route with the participation of leading world riders in the direction of BMX. Then guests can take part in an experimental competition and upon completion of the process it is expected to receive a certificate of SS, which will be awarded by a special commission of the International Union of Cyclists. The opening of the route is planned for early September. In our country there are only a few athletes who are engaged in this area. With the support of the state government, as well as attracting foreign specialists, in the future we plan to develop the BMX direction in Uzbekistan,” said General Secretary of the Cycling Federation of Uzbekistan Kozim Urinboykhuzhayev.

The track will have two starting lines (5 meter and 8 meter). 5 meters will be intended for training and for amateurs, and professional races will start in a large line. After completion of the construction of the route, a person of any age who is interested in the direction of the BMX can test himself on a small starting line.

The fourth Youth Olympic Games will be held in Senegal in 2022, and this area is included in the program of the Olympics.

The construction of such a modern facility will provide an opportunity to adequately prepare for the Olympic Games not only in the directions of the highway and track, but also in the BMX.
