Construction of a solar photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 1040 kW starts at the Takhiatash TPP

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Takhiatash thermal power plant is the main enterprise providing electricity to consumers in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

Today, the company is building a solar photovoltaic plant to cover the electricity used for its own needs from renewable energy sources. The station will be put into operation in the first quarter of 2023.

The station generates an average of 1.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, reducing the company’s electricity consumption by 20-30% and saving 628,000 cubic meters of natural gas.

In 11 months of 2022, solar panels with a total capacity of 16 kW were put into operation at the station. Also installed are 14 solar water heaters with a capacity of 2800 liters, 380 solar panel lights and 360 motion sensors.
