Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed the constitutional law "On the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan."
According to this law, the Cabinet of Ministers is the highest executive authority responsible for the effective management of the economy, social and spiritual spheres, as well as for the implementation of the Constitution, laws, resolutions of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, decrees, decisions, and orders of the President.
The Cabinet of Ministers operates as a collegial body that oversees the unified system of executive power in Uzbekistan. It is accountable to the Oliy Majlis and the President for its activities.
The unified system of executive authorities of the republic includes ministries, committees, agencies, and inspections.
The Cabinet of Ministers consists of members of the Government of Uzbekistan, including the Prime Minister, their deputies, and ministers. The head of the government of the Republic of Karakalpakstan is a member of the Cabinet of Ministers by virtue of their position.
The law comes into effect upon its official publication.
