Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Umid Shadiev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, opened the Central Asian Tourism Workshop within the framework of the 25th UNWTO General Assembly in Samarkand. 

Umid Shadiev welcomed the participants and expressed confidence in ensuring stable and dynamic development of the region's tourism market in partnership with UNWTO.

“These days you can discover that Central Asian countries make all the effort to boost the development of the tourism sector in the region. One of the first and most praised initiatives by the President of Uzbekistan - His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev was opening borders with neighbors and integrating economies. In order, to transfer good relationships into tourism and benefit from the international tourism market, our President proposed “One tour – whole region» initiative which offers the region as one tourism destination and helps private sector to sell combined tours”.

“We hope that the Central Asian Tourism Workshop will attain its primary objectives by fostering cooperation and collaboration among the Member States of Central Asia through the identification of common areas of work. Additionally, together with the current workshop, we will find ways of engagement with international organizations, donors, private sector stakeholders, and the countries in the region, with a view to exploring potential cross-border tourism development initiatives”.
