Conference on strategic partnership between uzbekistan and Japan takes place in Tokyo+

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Director of the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Studies (IMRS), Dr. Umid Abidkhadjaev, participated in the Conference of Analytical Centers of Japan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On 11 July 2024, the conference titled "Uzbek-Japanese Expert Dialogue: Strategic Partnership in New Conditions" took place in Tokyo.

During his presentation, Director Umid Abidkhadjaev discussed cooperation in the fields of green economy, digitalization, and social support.

The presentation included proposals for cooperation between the two countries in the following four areas:

1. Green Packaging for Organic Agricultural Products: Emphasized the importance of environmentally friendly packaging for organic agricultural products and discussed the prospects for establishing a Uzbek-Japanese Packaging Center.

2. Digital Labor Market Utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI): Proposed initiatives for integrating AI to optimize communication between the labor market and education, applying AI in medicine, and incorporating elements of smart cities.

3. Development of Neighborhood Master Plans (Machizukuri): Japan’s expertise in developing comprehensive plans for territorial development was highlighted. Uzbekistan expressed interest in developing master plans for selected regions aimed at sustainable development. Collaboration between Uzbekistan and Japan could facilitate the development of these master plans.

4. Private Japanese Schools in Rural Areas of Uzbekistan: Uzbekistan is committed to enhancing the quality of education in rural areas. Japanese private schools, known for their high educational standards, can contribute significantly to addressing this challenge.

These initiatives represent important steps toward strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan. Collaboration in these areas is expected to promote economic growth, social stability, and environmental sustainability, benefiting both countries. This will strengthen strategic partnership and create new opportunities for development.
