Concrete sleeper damages Afrosiyob train

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 January 2025, at 11:15 PM, an incident occurred involving high-speed train No. 772 Afrosiyob traveling from Tashkent to Bukhara.

The event took place at the 3872nd kilometer of the railway between Ziyavuddin and Navoi stations, as reported by the press service of JSC “Uzbekistan Railways.”

A concrete sleeper was found on the tracks, prompting the train operators to execute emergency braking. Thanks to their professionalism, serious consequences were avoided, and passengers were not put at risk.

Following the stop, a technical team conducted an immediate inspection of the train. Despite minor damage, the train was deemed safe to continue its journey and arrived at the Bukhara station at 1:27 AM.

Specialists from the Ziyavuddin Railway Division, staff from the Bukhara Regional Hub, and transport security representatives quickly arrived at the scene. An investigation into the causes and circumstances of the incident is currently underway.

JSC “Uzbekistan Railways” is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and reliability of train operations. The company expresses gratitude to passengers for their understanding and assures that every effort will be made to prevent similar incidents in the future.
