Concert of classic music to be held in Uzbek capital
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Embassy of France in Uzbekistan, French Institute in Uzbekistan in cooperation with Fund Forum will organize a concert dedicated to the 150th birthday of the French composer Claude Debussy (1862-1918). The concert will be held at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan on 1 November 2012.

For many years, French Institute in Uzbekistan organizes concerts of French classic music in the country. Since 2008, the concerts have been organized at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.

The concert will unite pianists François Chaplin, who visited Uzbekistan earlier and he is considered as one of the best performers of Debussy, and violoncellist François Salque and opera singer Delphine Haidan. They will perform works of Debussy, as well as his teachers and students.

François Chaplin is one of the most interesting representatives of French piano music. His complete recording of the piano works by Claude Debussy was unanimously praised by the critics (Diapason d'Or, ffff Télérama, BBC Music Magazine Award). His discography also includes music by Chopin, Schumann, Poulenc, C. P. E. Bach, and Mozart.

François Salque is recognised as one of the most stunning cellists of his generation. His profound musical thinking and phenomenal technique have earned him many prestigious awards: François is a prize-winner at such international competitions as Lausanne (Unanimous First Prize), Geneva (2nd Prize), ARD Munich, Tchaikovsky in Moscow…. He was each time given the highest distinctions ever awarded to a French cellist in the histories of these competitions.

Delphine Haidan, being Master of Musicology at Sorbonne, received a prize in nomination “opera” of Paris Conservatory and at international competitions.

Entry is on invitations or free tickets, which can be received at French Institute in Uzbekistan.
