Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 16 August, a presentation of the concept for the beautification of "Uzbekiston Ovozi" Street took place at the Republican Children’s Library. The project’s architects from the Ludi_Architects bureau showcased the new design to local residents and city officials.
The project offers a unique interpretation of the street’s various historical eras, encompassing traditional, modernist, and contemporary periods. Each era, with its distinct characteristics and rich history, is reflected in the beautification concept.
The thematic and visual content of the project draws on Uzbekistan’s traditional crafts and cultural heritage. The street’s design incorporates symbolic ornaments and architectural elements inspired by local craftsmanship.
Special attention was given to the eastern (modern) section of the street, located near the EcoPark. This section is associated with the theme of the future, with its design featuring references to science, ecology, and space through interactive and educational elements.
"The main focus of the street’s beautification is prioritizing pedestrians over cars. In the project, we are developing a comfortable and safe environment for pedestrians, structuring car and bicycle traffic to separate the flows and create an unobstructed space for residents," said Lyubov Leontyeva, architect, general director, and founder of Ludi_Architects.
Gulnoza Kasimova, press secretary and advisor on information policy to the khokim of Tashkent, also spoke about the project: "The implementation of this concept, developed by foreign specialists with successful experience in Tashkent, will be an important step in creating an inclusive, comfortable environment for residents and visitors to the capital. Seeing the joyful anticipation in the eyes of local residents strengthens our confidence that the combined efforts of the project’s developers, the capital’s hokimiyat, and Tashkent Invest will lead to the best possible outcome for the residents."
The concept for the beautification of Uzbekiston Ovozi Street is not only a reflection of rich cultural heritage but also a forward-looking initiative focused on developing and preserving a unique urban environment.
