Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection Committee is investigating an advertisement by the tour operator Mango Travel, which features minors.
The advertisement, promoting "Umrah" services, sparked widespread public concern due to the involvement of underage individuals.
According to the Committee, Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 668, from 12 October 2024, established the "Licensing Procedure for Organizing and Conducting ‘Umrah’ Events," which explicitly prohibits providing such services to minors.
Additionally, Article 17 of the Law "On Advertising" prohibits the participation of minors in advertisements and outlines accountability for violating these provisions.
In light of these regulations, the Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection Committee is conducting an investigation in accordance with established procedures.
Further details will be disclosed upon the conclusion of the case review, the Committee stated.
