Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis has approved, in the second and third readings, a draft law aimed at improving the legal framework in the fields of taxation and entrepreneurship, according to the press service of the lower house of parliament.

The draft law introduces stricter liability for tax-related violations, with the goal of preventing such offenses. In particular, it strengthens penalties for tax evasion, including avoidance of fees and other mandatory payments.

At the same time, the bill provides for exemption from liability if the full amount of damage caused to the state is reimbursed.

The law also outlines in detail the powers related to pre-investigation checks and investigative actions. According to the new provisions, additional taxes, fees, and other payments assessed during investigations will not accrue penalties until the amounts are transferred to the budget from investigative agency accounts.

Additionally, by the second reading, a clause was added stipulating that compensations paid for the seizure of land plots for state and public needs shall be exempt from taxation.

Lawmakers emphasized that the adoption of this legislation will help ensure stable tax revenues and create equal conditions for the development of private business.
