Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-March 2024, commercial banks of Uzbekistan issued car loans in the amount of 4.23 trillion soums.

This figure decreased compared to the same period in 2023, when the volume of auto loans was 7.51 trillion soums.

Last year the Central Bank of Uzbekistan decided that the share of car loans in the total loan portfolio of banks should be no more than 25%.

Last year, the volume of car loans amounted to 36.55 trillion soums.

It should be noted that in January-March 2024, commercial banks of Uzbekistan provided loans to the population for a total amount of 20 trillion soums, which is 4.7% more than in the same period of last year.
