Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 July this year, a re-opening ceremony was held after the reconstruction of the Samarkand College of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
Rector of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov spoke at the event.
“In the next five years, we intend to increase the number of qualified personnel working in the tourism sector to 500,000 people. It should be noted that graduates who graduated from the technical school with “good” and “excellent” will have the opportunity to enter the second year of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage without an exam,” Aziz Abdukhakimov added.
The main part of the educational process in the technical school is devoted to practice, where students will be trained in accessible modern workshops and enterprises to perform practical work.
Currently, the college provides training in 9 areas:
- tourism;
- service and tourism;
- organization and management of the hotel business;
- organization of catering services;
- production of bread, bakery products, confectionery and pasta;
– airport services;
- accounting and auditing;
- hairdressing;
- preservation and reconstruction of cultural heritage sites.
In the period of 2022-2023 academic year, 443 students studied at the technical school.
The educational process at the technical school is organized in close cooperation with enterprises and employers. International relations with South Korea, Germany, Turkey, Bulgaria and other foreign countries have also been established. Students and teachers of the technical school improve their knowledge and skills in international tourism organizations.
