The corporate newspaper said PetroChina, parent company of CNPC, plans to get 20 million tonnes of crude oil and 55 billion to 60 billion cubic metres of natural gas a year. The paper said China plans to make Central Asia “a demonstration area for overseas oil and gas cooperation”.
CNPC’s oil output from its Central Asian operates will reach 24.58 million tonnes and natural gas extraction will amount to 6.3 billion cubic metres this year, the paper noted.
As earlier reported, last week China and three Central Asian states - Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan - launches the first line of gas pipeline, which is able to transport about 40 billion cubic metres of gas.
