CNPC connects export pipeline of Amudarya to the section of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) announced connection of export pipeline of Amudarya to the section of Uzbekistan of constructing gas pipeline “Central Asia-China”.

Gas export pipeline of Turkmen section was connected with Uzbek part of Central Asian pipeline on the border of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, CNPC reported.

"Central Asia-China" gas pipeline will connect large minefields of natural gas in Central Asia with gas transportation system of China and will include two branches stretching from Samandepe minefield in Turkmenistan through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Its total length will constitute more than 7 thousand kilometers.

Construction of Kazakh section is realized by "Asian gas pipeline" (establishers are Trans-Asia Gas Pipeline Company Limited and state company KazTransGas). Uzbek section is constructed by joint venture Asia Trans Gas and national holding company "Uzbekneftegas."

In April 2006 General Agreement on realization of gas pipeline Central Asia-China and selling of Turkmen natural gas to China was signed between Chinese and Turkmen governments. It will be put into operation in the end of 2009. Under reached agreements Turkmenistan will supply up to 40 billion cubic meters of gas to China per year for 30 years.
