Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting with representatives of Clearstream Banking S.A (Clearstream) was held at the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of the General Director of the Uzbek Republican Currency Exchange JSC (UzRCE).

Clearstream was represented at the meeting by Head of Global Markets - Mr. Jan Willems, Sales Manager - Mr. Ugnius Slavinskas, and Cooperation Manager - Mukhammajon Ikromov.

During the meeting, Clearstream representatives shared their experience in building a settlement infrastructure in the international securities markets, serving investors in this market, and using advanced settlement mechanisms.

The parties discussed the optimal forms of interaction between Clearstream and UzRCE, including in terms of the company’s participation in the UzRCE markets on behalf of foreign investors, building an effective system of international settlements through the SWIFT system, creating appropriate conditions for this and further necessary measures.

At the end of the meeting, Clearstream representatives expressed their readiness for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation, supporting the ongoing efforts of the UzRCE to improve the infrastructure of the republic’s capital market and create favorable conditions for the participation of non-residents in the markets of the UzRCE.
