Representative of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari in Kaliningrad Ravshan Jalilov said that extortions from passengers of Tashkent-Kaliningrad flight started in early October. Special tables were put in airport and employees of insurance companies demanded that the passengers should buy medical insurance policy.
The insurance companies forced passengers to buy insurance policy in line with the resolution of the Russian government from 1998. The price of insurance policy was up to 3,000 rubles. The passengers, who refused to purchase insurance policy, were not allowed to leave the airport. At the same time, the passengers, flying to Uzbekistan, were also forced to purchase insurance policy.
Representative of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari said that mandatory insurance policies were sold only to passengers from Uzbekistan, arriving in flights of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari and Ural Airlines (Russia).
The security force of Hrabrovo airport confirmed that some insurance companies operated at the airport and they realized medical insurance policy to passengers from Uzbekistan.
Ravshan Jalilov said that after complaints from passengers Uzbekistan Havo Yollari sent request to clarify legality of the activities of insurance companies. In the result of inspection of the law enforcement bodies, it was revealed that the activities of insurance companies were illegal.
