Cities, villages, highways: Beeline Uzbekistan expands its network nationwide

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Beeline Uzbekistan continues its large-scale network expansion project throughout Uzbekistan. As one of the largest taxpayers and investors in the telecommunications sector, the operator consistently establishes the groundwork for the further digitalization of the country’s economy.

Nearly 2000 new base stations were added to the Beeline Uzbekistan network in 2024. The most intensive construction took place in densely populated areas of the country, including Tashkent and the Tashkent region, as well as in the Samarkand, Andijan, and Kashkadarya regions. Approximately 270 base stations were installed to enhance coverage along key highways and railways.

Additionally, since the beginning of the year, the digital operator has modernized over 740 previously deployed base stations, significantly increasing their capacity. As a result, Beeline Uzbekistan's network is handling 20% more traffic compared to the same period last year, and the average data transmission speed has increased by 46%. The number of VoLTE users is also growing. Those who have chosen this technology for instant call connection and clear sound have increased sixfold, and traffic volume has surged tenfold. Extensive technical work has been carried out across all regions of Uzbekistan.

In Tashkent and the Tashkent region, 282 base stations were built and 178 were modernized over the eight months of 2024. Some of the new equipment is located along the M34 highway, which connects the capitals of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, on the A373 road between Tashkent and Samarkand, and on the Uzbek section of the international M39 route, which also passes through Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

228 base stations were built and 64 were modernized in the Samarkand region. Coverage has been improved on major highways. Mobile services have been introduced for the first time in several hard-to-reach settlements in the Nurabad and Tailak districts, along sections of the M39 and M37 highways between Samarkand and Ashgabat, and along railway lines.

In the Andijan region, Beeline Uzbekistan has added 201 base stations to its network. The capacity of 55 previously deployed base stations has been increased, allowing more customers to access high-quality communication services. Coverage has been improved along the Andijan–Namangan road and the A373 highway in the Shakhrikhan and Khudjaabad districts.

In the Kashkadarya region 177 base stations were built, 54 were modernized. The region has set a record for the number of small settlements where Beeline Uzbekistan has introduced reliable voice connection and 4G internet for the first time. The operator’s services have reached remote areas in the Kamashi, Karshi, Kasbi, Kitab, Shakhrisabz, and Yakkabag districts.

180 base stations were built and 25 were modernized in the Surkhandarya region. The coverage area has been expanded to include roads in the Boysun, Denau, Jarkurgan, Sariasiya, Sherabad, and Shurchi districts. Several small villages in the Denau district have gained access to the operator's network for the first time.

Significant work has also been done in the Fergana region, with 150 new and 68 modernized base stations. A separate project focused on network development in Kokand, the region’s second-largest city by population, where 120 base stations were installed and 43 were modernized.

In the Bukhara region 135 base stations were built and 49 were modernized. Coverage has been extended to include small settlements in the Bukhara and Gijduvan districts, as well as new sections of the M37 and "Guzar – Bukhara – Nukus – Beyneu" A380 highways.

Coverage has been improved along the A380 and A381 highways in Karakalpakstan. A total of 126 base stations have been installed in the region in 2024, with capacity increased at 33 of these stations.

In the Namangan region, the main work focused on upgrading existing communication infrastructure, with 64 base stations being modernized. Additionally, 99 new base stations have been launched.

Network modernization has also been a focus in the Jizzakh region, with 40 base stations being upgraded and 51 new base stations installed. Coverage has been improved along railway lines in the regional center, as well as in the Gallaaral, Jizzakh, Dustlik, and Zaamin districts.

In the Khorezm region 84 base stations have been installed, and the capacity of 26 previously deployed base stations has been increased.

Beeline Uzbekistan's network has expanded in the Navoi region with the addition of 72 base stations and the modernization of 26. Continuous access to communication services has been ensured along sections of the M37 highway in the Karmana district and the railway in the Kyzyltepa district.

In the smallest region of the country by population, the Syrdarya region, 63 new base stations have been installed and 19 have been modernized to meet the needs of customers.

"The essence of Beeline's continuous infrastructure development is to provide access to modern digital services wherever needed by the residents of Uzbekistan. It’s no coincidence that out of the hundreds of new base stations installed across the country in 2024, nearly one in seven is located along highways and railways, often far from populated areas. Whether at home or on the go, our customers can comfortably use all the services provided by our company. We are already seeing that Beeline Uzbekistan's network has recorded a 20% increase in traffic in 2024 compared to the same period last year, and the average data transfer speed has risen by 46% over the year," says Georgy Kan, Beeline Uzbekistan's Chief Technology Officer.

"The achievements of our company over the years in Uzbekistan motivate us to pursue new projects that strengthen the country’s digital economy. Since the start of 2024, Beeline Uzbekistan has invested a record amount into expanding communication infrastructure. As one of the top investors in the telecommunications sector of the republic, we are creating an environment that supports the successful implementation of digital innovations across all regions and sectors – from personal use and business operations to the services provided to government institutions that are our clients," said Andrzej Malinowski, CEO of Beeline Uzbekistan.
