Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved the reconstruction of the Pungan-Namangan road. Chinese CITIC Construction will reconstruct the Pungan-Namangan road.

The head of Uzbekistan noted that residents of Namangan and the Ferghana Valley in general are suffering, especially in winter.

He emphasized that the time has come for the reconstruction of this road.

The President noted that he personally discusses major projects with investors.

It is expected that the reconstruction of the road will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The planned speed on the highway will be 120 km/h. There will be bridges and overpasses along it, as well as underground passages.

The project was planned to be implemented in 2013, but was suspended in 2016.
