CIS security bloc chief rules out Uzbekistan’s withdrawal
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will not pull out of the CSTO [Collective Security Treaty Organization], the secretary-general of the CSTO, Nikolay Bordyuzha, told journalists on 16 December.

"I have no reason to believe that Uzbekistan will withdraw from the organization," he said.

"On the contrary, Uzbekistan is stepping up its involvement in the CSTO. Suffice it to say that a body was set up at the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, which will coordinate cooperation between the Uzbek authorities and the CSTO member countries," the secretary-general said.

"Even this minor fact confirms that Uzbekistan is quite active in this field of cooperation," Nikolay Bordyuzha concluded.
