CIS PMs consider over 20 issues in Minsk
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Council of the heads of the governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held in Minsk, Belarus, on 30 May 2014, according to the press service of the Executive Committee of the CIS.

Representatives of all member states of the CIS attended the event. They considered over 20 draft documents related to various directions of cooperation.

Prime Ministers analyzed execution in 2013 of the interstate programme of innovation cooperation in the CIS till 2020 and complex measures on its implementation for 2012-2014.

The sides adopted decision that innovative projects will receive interstate status after the projects underwent national selection process.

The programme operator was entrusted to develop a draft complex of measures on its implementation for 2015-2020, while the member states should adopt necessary measures for allocation of funds to finance projects, including to the list of pilot projects of the programme.

The CIS member states signed an agreement, regulating cooperation in interstate exchange of scientific-technical information and information cooperation of the CIS states in ensuring transport safety. These documents will help to speed up access to use of new information-telecommunication technologies, development of joint programmes and projects in science-technical information, etc.

The Council also adopted measures to develop cooperation in radio navigation and hydrometeorology for next several years and introduced changes to rules of determining the country of origin of the goods.

The CIS Prime Ministers also considered several documents, directed at developing cooperation in humanitarian sphere.

The Prime Minister approved a programme on support and development of national types of sports in the CIS till 2020 and action plan on its implementation for 2015-2017.

The CIS member states adopted measures on fighting spread of foot-and-mouth disease in the CIS area. The document will minimize economic damage in the result of spread of foot-and-mouth disease.

At the meeting, the Prime Ministers gave a basic organization of the Commonwealth to several educational establishments.

In the sphere of the security in the CIS area, Prime Ministers considered issues related to returning under-ages to the states, where they live, liquidation of consequences of emergency situations, survey and navigation support of armed forces, as well as cooperation of engineering armed forces of the CIS in re-mining.

Prime Ministers of the CIS also rated activities of some bodies of the organizations, some financial and organizational issues.

In particular, the CIS Prime Ministers decided to hold their next session in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on 21 November 2014.
