Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An Uzbek parliamentary delegation, led by Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, participated in the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly (IPA) Council meeting in St. Petersburg.
The meeting focused on monitoring electoral processes within the Commonwealth, including presidential elections in Russia and Azerbaijan, as well as parliamentary elections in Belarus.
Participants reviewed the activities of the IPA CIS permanent commissions on political issues, international cooperation, and defense and security.
The session approved the draft regulation on the status of IPA CIS observers, incorporating feedback from all national delegations, and endorsed other key documents.
The head of the Uzbek delegation invited international observers from the IPA CIS to participate in the upcoming elections for the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and local Kengashes, scheduled for October this year.
