The Council of heads of state and public broadcasters of the CIS held a meeting in Moscow, Russian capital, on 31 October and signed the agreement on creation of Interstate Information Pool. They also approved temporary order and standards of the Pool.
According to the agreement, the pool participants will exchange information. Its participants will provide video materials on events and facts in their countries for formation of information package. The package will be available for television channels of other states.
The agreement noted that the sides will have no right to change or edit video materials and Mir Interstate Television Company will coordinate exchange of video materials.
The pool will start to function on 1 February 2009 on regular daily basis, while in January it will work in testing regime.
