Cinema Forum “Golden Guepard” opens in Uzbek capital
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Solemn opening ceremony of the Second International Cinema Forum “Golden Guepard” was held at the Cultural-Cognitive Entertainment Center “City Makon” on 30 September 2012.

The cinema forum was organized by Fund Forum at the support of National Agency “Uzbekkino”. The forum is organized within the Art Week Style.uz – 2012.

Representatives of ministries and departments, creative and international organizations, diplomatic corps, Uzbek and foreign cinematographers, directors and actors, students and others participated at the opening ceremony.

The project is aimed at presenting achievements of Uzbekistan in cinematography, creating conditions for creative cooperation exchange of experience between local and foreign creative groups, etc.

Statuette “Golden Guepard” is awarded in such nominations as Best film – Grand Prix, Award for the best director, Award for the best actress, Award for the best actor, Award for the best animated film, Award for the best short film.

The organizers said that cinematographers from over 45 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, Northern and Southern America will participate in the cinema forum. Some 473 films were submitted to the forum, of which 157 full-length films, 230 short films and 86 animations.

Twelve full-length films will compete for the main prize. Among them are “Ave” from Bulgaria, “Daughter...Father...Daughter” from Iran, “Kamihate Store” from Japan, “Summer Games” from Switzerland, “Amateurs” from Spain, “Joanna” from Poland and others.

Jury selected 10 animation films and 12 short films for the Second International Cinema Forum “Golden Guepard”. Some more films will be demonstrated in out-of-competition programme.

The films will be shown at Youth Creative Palace, Premier Hall and City Makon. Films, included to out-of-competition programme, will be shown at Alisher Navoi Art Palace.
