Uzbekistan02/11/2007Chinese premier tables four-point proposal on enhancing SCO cooperation
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao raised a four-point proposal here on Friday at a prime ministers’ meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), aiming to lift the regional organization’s cooperation to a new height.
Wen arrived in Tashkent on Friday for a two-day official visit and the sixth Meeting of Prime Ministers of the SCO Member States, Xinhua reported.
The proposal includes the following points:
Firstly, the coordination of law, regulations and policies should be enhanced, and trade and investment environment should be gradually improved.
Secondly, the cooperation mechanism between the SCO member states should be established and further improved, and new fields of cooperation should be started in a step by step way, focusing on prioritized matters.
Thirdly, the network projects in some prioritized fields should be carried out, and the exemplary projects agreed upon by all member states should be started at an earlier date.
Fourthly, efforts should be made to enhance the study and planning of economic policy, as well as information exchange among member states.
