Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Uzbekistan pays special attention to the development of free economic zones in the field of pharmaceuticals, as an important factor in attracting foreign investment, especially direct, to create modern high-tech industries, which ensure the production of competitive pharmaceutical products with high added value on the basis of in-depth processing of local medicinal plants, minerals, various types of vegetables and fruits, grapes.

There is no doubt that the comprehensive and effective involvement of the production and resource potential of the regions of the republic in this sector will contribute to the creation of new high-tech jobs and increase real incomes.

In this context, the use of the opportunities of partnership within the framework of the "One belt – one road" initiative can also give a positive impetus to development.

So, last week, the “Annual meeting on prescription drugs – 2019” was organized by the Association of Uzbek-Chinese trade, together with the Chinese Association of medical pharmaceutical materials (China Medical Pharmaceutical material Association (CMPMA).

The Chinese delegation was headed by Mr. Hao Yang, Vice-President of the Association CMPMA, the President of the Company “XI’AN Datown Pharmaceutical Group Co. Ltd.” In total, the delegation included more than 12 heads of major manufacturers of medicines from China.

The China Association of medical pharmaceutical materials is a non-profit industry organization established in 1989 by the Ministry of civil Affairs of the people’s Republic of China.

Today, the Association brings together more than 5,000 pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers across China, adheres to domestic and global oriented services and serves enterprises and institutions in a wide range of related fields, such as research and development, production, operation and maintenance of pharmaceutical products, medical supplies and related materials across China and around the world, and actively participates in the work of governments at all levels and in related fields. Various useful events are organized to promote the development of the pharmaceutical health industry.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the state of cooperation and development in the pharmaceutical field, the possibility of establishing bilateral cooperation between China and Uzbekistan in the establishment of modern pharmaceutical industry. The guests of the meeting were interested in the practice of creating FEZs in the field of pharmaceuticals in Uzbekistan.

On the second day, the Agency for the development of the pharmaceutical industry organized an introductory tour for Chinese investors to the "Parkent-Pharm" and "Bustonlik-Pharm" zones, being created in Tashkent region. Investors were shown a situational map for the placement of farm production, investment opportunities in FEZs, detailed information on the preferences and benefits provided to residents, these FEZs was given.

Following the meetings and consultations, the parties agreed to continue cooperation and signed relevant agreements between the Chinese Association of medical pharmaceutical materials and the Agency for the development of the pharmaceutical industry of the Ministry of health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Association of Uzbek-Chinese trade.

In particular, the parties agreed to promote the development of their members, private business and entrepreneurship, strengthening trade, economic and friendly relations between entrepreneurs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the people’s Republic of China.

Thus, the CMPMA will strongly support the process of attracting Chinese investment, innovation and advanced technologies in the pharmaceutical industry of Uzbekistan. In addition, it is planned to familiarize Uzbek pharmacists with the experience of China in the field of reform and modernization of the pharmaceutical industry, public-private partnership in this area, assistance to entrepreneurs from our country in participating in exhibitions, fairs, business forums, cooperative exchanges in China.
