Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 October, at the Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport, the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov met the delegation of the People’s Republic of China led by the Minister of Culture and Tourism Hu Heping.
The purpose of the visit is to hold a series of meetings with the heads of ministries and departments of Uzbekistan dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the “One Belt – One Road” initiative. Also, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the PRC will take part in a gala concert as part of the “Days of Chinese Culture” and will visit tourist attractions in Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara regions.
During the visit, Hu Heping will hold a trilateral meeting with the participation of the UN Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili and the Minister of Ecology Aziz Abdukhakimov.
It is worth noting that cooperation between Uzbekistan and China has intensified significantly in recent years in all sectors.
In particular, charter flights from China to Uzbekistan were launched, work was done to popularize the image of Uzbekistan in the Chinese media, a number of joint events were held and significant documents and memorandums were signed.
The purpose of this visit is to strengthen bilateral relations in the field of tourism and increase the number of Chinese tourists to 1 million tourists per year in the coming years.
