Chinese authorities approve ZF-2001 coronavirus vaccine for emergency use

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The vaccine against COVID-19 of the Institute of Microbiology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the company Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical, co-authored by Uzbekistan, has been approved for emergency use in China. This became known back in March this year.

The ZF-2001 coronavirus vaccine, developed by the Institute of Microbiology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and manufactured by Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical, has been approved by the Chinese authorities for emergency use. The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan reported this with reference to Reuters.

The third phase of clinical trials of the vaccine has been conducted since the end of last year in China, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Ecuador and Indonesia. During the full course of testing the drug, serious side effects were not recorded, the report says.

For active participation in vaccine trials, Chinese scientists recognized their Uzbek colleagues as co-authors in its development. On the territory of Uzbekistan, the drug was registered under the name ZF-UZ-VAC 2001.
