Chinese and Uzbek children share stage
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Fund Forum stages a cultural event in China featuring children from Vanhualu school in Beijing and their Uzbek peers attending school in Beijing. The music evening of April 23 amounts to an important step towards better mutual understanding and stronger ties between the two nations.

The students of Vanhualu school gave their Uzbek peers an opportunity to learn more about traditional art of Chinese people, performing folk dances and traditional music on national music instruments such as the bamboo flute, the pipa (a four-stringed Chinese instrument, belonging to the plucked category of instruments) and the qinqin (a plucked Chinese lute originally with a wooden body, a slender fretted neck, and three strings).

In their turn, children from Uzbekistan performed national and modern dances, performed a song Tashkent as well as a kung fu performance.

Notably, this is not the first event organized by the Fund Forum`s Representative Office in Beijing in an effort to further develop Uzbek-Chinese relations in the area of support of children`s creative endeavours. In November 2008, Vanhualu students attended the 2nd International Tashkent Biennale of children`s drawings titled “Joy of Tashkent”.

This time Chinese schoolchildren invited peers from Uzbekistan to visit Vanhualu school and demonstrate Uzbek art for the Beijing school.

The event has become another important step in the development of cultural cooperation, establishment of new contacts between representatives of the two countries, particularly, among the rising generations of Uzbekistan and China.
